Holly Amaya
Holly Amaya is an associate in the firm's San Diego office. She represents and counsels clients including planned unit developments, condominium associations, and timeshare developments in litigation and transactional matters alike, including issues relating to multi-party construction defect matters, real estate disputes, enforcement of governing documents, and pre- and post-judgment collections. She also represents clients in tort, personal injury, and employment matters, and takes cases on a pro bono basis through the San Diego Volunteer Lawyers Program.
Ms. Amaya graduated cum laude from the Indiana University-Bloomington Maurer School of Law, where she was the recipient of the Maurice Miller Graduate Scholarship and an Indiana University Foundation fellowship. While at Indiana, Ms. Amaya served as Senior Articles Editor for the Federal Communications Law Journal, on the school’s National Telecommunications Moot Court and Trial Competition Teams, and as a Certified Legal Intern specializing in family law issues for Indiana Legal Services. She also completed a federal judicial externship with the Honorable Sarah Evans Barker of the Southern District of Indiana.
Ms. Amaya holds additional degrees in journalism and English from Indiana University-Bloomington, where she was an undergraduate recipient of the prestigious full-tuition Wells Scholarship, and a diploma with honors in British and American Literature from the University of Kent at Canterbury, England. Before law school, Ms. Amaya was a reporter for The Arizona Republic in Phoenix, covering crime, breaking news, and public safety.
Ms. Amaya is licensed to practice in all California state courts and in federal district court for the Southern District of California. She is a member of the Community Associations Institute of California and contributes to and edits CAI’s California Legislative Action Committee newsletter. Ms. Amaya also regularly contributes to the Lawyers Club News and New Lawyers For the Record, a publication of the San Diego County Bar Association. She is an Associate in the J. Clifford Wallace American Inn of Court, serves on the Board of Directors of the Indiana University Alumni Association of San Diego, is the Public Relations and Marketing chair for the Junior League of San Diego, and serves as a Big Sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego County.
